Hello! My name is Frankie and I am a writer and teacher based in Southern California. I write web articles, blog posts, and short stories. You can find out more about my work by clicking the links above. Thanks for stopping by!
Just one week ago, I woke up to the news of a devastating flash flood just a few miles away from my home. With everything that's happened in the past week, it didn't feel right to do a usual blog post.
My parents love to travel. If there's a time that everybody is home, they take the opportunity to drive somewhere far away and Christmas time is no exception. Though they toyed with the idea of driving to Carlsbad Caverns (a 17-hour drive from my home), my parents thankfully chose to take us to Joshua Tree National Park.
A late post! I read The Sympathizer in May of last year. I had intended to continue my "What I Read This Month" series and add this to the lineup, but the end of last May became very very busy for me. I'd probably just move on to the next, but I think it's a super important book! So here are my (brief) thoughts on Viet Thanh Nguyen's The Sympathizer.
Happy New Year! I've been following Chriselle Lim's blog for a few months now (she's pretty frickin' fabulous) and was inspired to do some self reflection after reading her wonderful end-of-the-year post. 2017 was definitely a strange one in terms of global events, but personally, it was one of growth, challenges, and joy. I wanted to try to be candid about how my year went, so I hope you enjoy reading.
Check out what I read in the month of April!
This month was so busy! I wasn't able to read much, but here are the great books that I've been able to dig into.
A little unboxing video we did for the long-awaited Nintendo Switch! Check it out by clicking the video above.
I'm just gonna admit right now. A lot of these are for school.
Not pictured: Everything I Never Told You. As a part of my New Year's resolution, I'm trying to read more modern fiction in my free time. Some of these books are part of a reading list for my class, but hopefully I can read at least one book a month that isn't for class. Check out what I read this month below.
I capture a good amount of pictures and videos. A few of them make it to Instagram, many to Snapchat, and a very rare selection to Facebook. Here is a compilation video of those that don't appear on social media.
