Hello! My name is Frankie and I am a writer and teacher based in Southern California. I write web articles, blog posts, and short stories. You can find out more about my work by clicking the links above. Thanks for stopping by!
It's hard to describe the kind of attention you get as a bride. However, it seems to be loving attention at the very least! Read on for some memorable moments from my bridal shower/bachelorette party weekend!
Even though I spend the most time at home, it's really hard for me to concentrate when I'm there. There are some spots that I like to do work in the house. But, I think I work best when I leave the house.
When Micah went off to medical school, we shared a lot of music with each other. Some songs were silly, some were fun, and a lot of them were about being in a long distance relationship. The songs in the playlist are a small portion of songs Micah sent me or songs that I would listen to when I felt a little lonely, when I was anticipating phone call, when I finally would get to see him here at home.
If you tuned in last week, you probably know what I'm currently reading. Even though I'm enjoying it, I am always looking for other stuff to read and have an extensive TBR pile. I thought we could take a look into the future and see what I'm planning on reading next and why. I haven't read these books yet, so no spoilers please :)
I really couldn't think of something to write about this week, so I just decided to talk about some stuff I've been doing/watching/thinking about at this point in time (a.k.a. read about things I will geek out about in real life if you ask me about them).
I'm in love...
When I was a freshman in college, I took a composition/literature class that was focused on coming-of-age literature. It was in this class that I read American Born Chinese, which is one of the first books that I consider having a major impact on the way I thought about things.
This is a suuuper late post, but I went to New Orleans last June and I just uploaded the pictures from the trip (it's the end of January, thank you very much). I was able to go for a bachelorette trip in honor of my cousin Chelsea and got to hang out with a group of hotties for a few days in one of the most exciting cities I've ever been to.
As a writer, sometimes reading can feel like work because it's almost like a daily study of writing techniques. But it's fun work. So fun, that sometimes I care a little too much about what happens to these characters (which is, of course, what any author can hope for). With that, I'm really pleased to say that my fall season with filled with outstanding books. Here are some mini reviews/fangirl-sh thoughts on these books.
Just one week ago, I woke up to the news of a devastating flash flood just a few miles away from my home. With everything that's happened in the past week, it didn't feel right to do a usual blog post.
