I've been really good about scheduling posts up until now...
I really couldn't think of something to write about this week, so I just decided to talk about some stuff I've been doing/watching/thinking about at this point in time (a.k.a. read about things I will geek out about in real life if you ask me about them).
If you don't know, I'm kind of obsessed with television. I'm super into anime and I recently finished Devilman Crybaby on Netflix. It's 10 episodes and it kind of ruined me. The animation is pretty and if you're into anime at all (like at all), you've probably heard about it and I'm here to tell you that the hype is real. I'm currently watching Cardcaptor Sakura and One Punch Man, both of which are light-hearted and fun so far.
I also watched a few movies recently (which is very unlike me because I'm definitely a series kind of person). When We First Met on Netflix (this is turning in a Now on Netflix advertisement but I don't care) is super cute and Adam Devine is hilarious. Cars 3 holds up. Kind of like how Monsters University holds up. It ends in a way you don't expect it to, which is very Pixar-like, but it still manages to charm the hell out of you when it's not perfect in terms of plot. Also Nathan Fillion is in it which I wholly approve of. And Captain Underpants made me so nostalgic. Not just because it's about a book series I read as a kid, but just because of how they portray being a kid. Although, it was very weird to hear Kevin Hart's voice come out of a cartoon boy's mouth.
As for what I'm reading, I'm currently halfway through Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. I really like it so far - the main character is pretty fascinating and the plot isn't a typical YA plot. Or it handles teen romance in a different way. I'm also getting through South and West by Joan Didion (nonfiction) and New American Best Friend by Olivia Gatwood (poetry).
I've also been in the throes of wedding planning, including invitation designs, guest book ideas, tastings, Catholic marriage prep, bridesmaid gifts, honeymoon planning, etc. Things are turning real! I had a second fitting for my gown, a hair and makeup trial, and had kind of a first meltdown™ (tbh i didn't think it would happen this early but I'm glad it did).
I guess that's kind of it! I'm sorry for such a random post, but that's how life goes sometimes. Thank you so much for reading, and please converse with me! Have you seen/done the things in bold? What are things I should check out? What have you been into lately?
