When Micah went off to medical school, we shared a lot of music with each other. Some songs were silly, some were fun, and a lot of them were about being in a long distance relationship. He sent the first song right after I dropped him off at the airport for his first semester at SGU. This was around the fall of 2014 and it would be the first time we wouldn't be within driving distance of each other. I remember trying to sleep in the back of my parents' Fiat while we left LAX and he messaged me a link to "Lay Me Down" by Sam Smith. I just listened to the song and cried.
The songs in the playlist are a small portion of songs Micah sent me or songs that I would listen to when I felt a little lonely, when I was anticipating phone call, when I finally would get to see him here at home.
Not all the songs in this playlist are sad (I promise) and I'm not trying to say that LDRs are all bad times. All types of relationships have their own challenges. I guess what I'm trying to say is that music always helps me and I hope it can help you.
